Proton Structure Corrections to Hydrogen Hyperfine Splitting
The largest uncertainty in calculations of hydrogen ground-state hyperfine splitting comes from corrections due to proton stucture. We review these corrections, with special mention of the inelastic, or polarizability, corrections which have been recently re-evaluated. Summing up the arguably best current values for the calculated corrections leaves us 1–2 ppm short of the experimental data. We...
متن کاملThe Angular Dependence Of
In all already performed (E89-009, E94-107, E01-011) or approved (E05-015) Jlab hypernuclear electroproduction experiments the K mesons are detected at very small (few degrees) laboratory scattering angels (measured with respect to virtual photon momentum). This region of kaon scattering angles is not covered, unfortunately, by recent photoand electro-production data on the elementary productio...
متن کاملQuantum-Dot Spin Qubit and Hyperfine Interaction
We review our investigation of the spin dynamics for two electrons confined to a double quantum dot under the influence of the hyperfine interaction between the electron spins and the surrounding nuclei. Further we propose a scheme to narrow the distribution of difference in polarization between the two dots in order to suppress hyperfine induced decoherence.
متن کاملAngular dependence of the sputtering yield of water ice by 100 keV proton bombardment
We measured the total sputtering yield of amorphous water ice for 100 keV H as a function of the projectile incidence angle, and the angular distribution of the ejected H2O and O2 molecules, using a quartz-crystal microbalance and mass spectrometry, respectively, at temperatures of 20 K and 100 K. The total sputtering yield follows a cos h dependence, with f ffi 1.3, regardless of the irradiati...
متن کاملNew Evaluation of Proton Structure Corrections to Hydrogen Hyperfine Splitting
We consider the proton structure corrections to hydrogen ground-state hyperfine structure, focusing on a state-of-the-art evaluation of the inelastic nucleon corrections—the polarizability corrections—using analytic fits to the most recent data. We find a value for the fractional correction ∆pol of 1.3 ± 0.3 ppm. This is 1–2 ppm smaller than the value of ∆pol one would deduce using hyperfine sp...
